Ch. 4- Welcome Home

"You're welcome to stay, If you like." 10 said, looking back to the sky. 9's eyes widened. Did she really mean that, after all he made her go through? "Of course I mean it." 10 said, giggling. "How did you…but I…you…huh?" 9 stuttered. 10 looked down again, "It's written all over your face!" she smiled "Please understand this, what's past is past. The only thing I ask of you is that you try to be more careful." 10 got up, "It's late," she said, "You should go get some sleep. I've set up a sleeping room for you all, it may be meager, but supplies are pretty low at the bottom of a canyon, you know?" she laughed. 9 chuckled with her.
The room the 10 had set up for 7, 9, 3 and 4 was pretty small, but very neat. There were 4 beds, each made out of feathers and cotton balls with rose petals sewn together as blankets. There was a table made out of rocks and walls and doors made out of white sheets. "She did… all of this?" 9 said incredulously. "You may not believe it," 7 smiled, "But 60 has visions too. Something about some of 6's soul in her gave her that power. She must have seen us in a dream and told her mom. 10 would never do something like this just in case, she's very, sensitive. After the accident, the only person she trusted was 6. I'm surprised she listened to 60."  9 stared out into space. 6, he thought, the one who was right all along. He didn't know 6 had a family. He remembered seeing 6 for the first time, in his own little world. Everyone thought he was crazy. Maybe they thought 10 left him because of that. Like the scientist's wife. 9 thought of little 60 and the scientist's daughter. They both shared similar stories. Something about that reminded him of 6's death, he had fallen into a crevice.
An idea ran into 9's head. "7, do you know where 10 got all the wire and metal for the ceilings?" he asked. "Why in the world would I know that?" she replied. "Remember the bridge incident?" he asked. "Well, that was 2 days ago how could I forget?" she said. "Is it possible this is where that all took place?" 9 said. 7 gasped and looked around, thought for a while and said, "It's very possible."  9 grabbed 7's hand in his. "I think we ought to go scouting tomorrow." He said. 7 looked into 9's eyes, and nodded. 3 and 4 tugged on 9's arm. "You guys wanna come too?" he asked. 3 and 4 nodded happily. "We'll set off tomorrow morning." 7 whispered, "We'll tell 10 and 60 we're leaving, but we'll say it's to get out, not search." She then let go of 9 and sat down on one of the beds. "I hope you know how happy 10 is. She hasn't been included like this since her and 6 were married." 9 sat down across form her. "She sure has a unique way of showing it." He said.
